	Central Park This world renowned 843 acre park is right in the middle of the city. Designed in 1858 by Fredrick Olmsted and Calvert Vaux. Some of the highlights include Tavern on The Green, Strawberry Fields, Wollman Skating Rink, Central Park Zoo & the Reservoir. 	Hudson River Park (Along Hudson River from Battery Park to 59th St.) Envisioned as running along the Hudson River from Battery Park to 59th Street this miles long narrow park is still in under sonctruction. You can walk, roller blade, bicycle, jog along miles of waterfront & gain access to some of the pier jutting out into the Hudson River. All sorts of activities planned and unplanned take place. 	Prospect Park Although it is located in Brooklyn at Grand Army Plaza, this 500 acre urban park built by Olmsted & Vaux one of NYC's jewels . 	Marcus Garvey Park Located in Harlem along 5th Ave. from 120th to 124th Streets. 	Morningside Park Originally one of Manhattan's premier parks designed in the late 1800's by Olmsted and Vaux, this 30 acre park fell into a state of disrepair and was deemed unsafe. Now, thanks to the concerted efforts of Friends of Morningside Park, the park has been revitalized, cleaned-up and re-planted, and will be starting a Saturday Farmer's Market and film screenings in the summer of 2006. 	Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace The only President born in New York City, "Teddie" lived here until he was 15 years old. The house was demolished in 1916, but the property was purchased after Roosevelt's death in 1919 and a replica of the home was built in its place.
